Artist's Comments

This is one of my final assignments for photography class.

I started working in the darkroom developing a series of images created without negatives by manipulating filtered light from the enlarger before it hit the photo paper. It started out interesting and progressed from there. I submitted my first efforts and my teacher really like them (and kept them for the student exhibition!) so he encouraged me to keep using the darkroom even though the class is technically over now. The above are my most recent attempts.

The thing I like the most about these is that each one is unique and will never be duplicated exactly. Plus they're fun to look at!
Enjoy!

The photographer's Rorschach test? The nuances of shade, texture and pattern are unique. Another envelope shredded ;)

exactly! the first series looked more like blobs of ink than photos, it was really cool to hear what my classmates saw in them.

:D ironic that I make envelopes for a living, no? :giggle:

those are sharp. normally when people do these they're not nearly as creative. I'm kinda curious to see how you did these. :)
