In early October I picked up a garland of plastic skeletons, a cheap Halloween decoration which provided the essential building blocks for Survival Mechanism
The small library of various anatomy books along with models of bones I've built/collected and sketch books I've filled with technical drawings will attest to the mild obsession I have with the human form specifically the bare bones of us all. I figured it was time I showed these particular sources of inspiration off in a slightly less abstracted method than usually employed. I love how you have to look at it to see that the one there is laying down on its back. There's a sense of helplessness in one, and the other just looks contemplative. Only you can do that, dear.
I had to "break" their joints and pose them using hot glue which was an interesting and valuable exercise in itself. In a variety of different poses theses two always seem particularly intimate which I find unusual (but not surprising) given that they were made to be models for different shoots.
It's pretty incredible what can be conveyed in simple 'lines'. They've all got their own personality and form of expression. I loves these little dudes! just like you. nomnomnom <3
