This is my entry for =IBinsanity's HUGE PHOTOGRAPHY COMP!!1! Here's the article [link] Check it out and get makin' some entries!
On a more serious note: I spent a fair bit of time researching before shooting this, I had what I was going to talk about all planned out but...I dunno I changed my mind. Rather than go into lengthy details about humans, Maslow's hierarchy, the ins and outs of oxygen or how old machinery is dependent on all of its moving parts serving their duty to function I'm just going to keep it simple. We go through life, we experience things, we learn, we develop values and mechanisms that help us adapt, we love and hate...we deal, or we don't. None of us are wired the same, no one experience will have exactly the same impact on any number of different people. We strive to be complete; we all have missing parts. Sometimes we can function without them, other times we can't. We search, we hurt, we don't always find what we're looking for. This is not about passing judgment-no matter the outcome for this is the most intimate of struggles that any one of us can face. The yellow ribbon is symbolic of Suicide prevention as well as Post-traumatic stress disorder stemming from military service (among other things) If you hurt, find someone to talk to. It isn't easy to face your feelings but its worth the effort. First of all this is fantastic! The way you captured the human being from another perspective. You represented the human being in a more different manner. As i said in the first comment i ever wrote you, i see that you sometimes represent the sad side of a human being. Loneliness, sufferings, and now suicidal moods.
It's very good what you did regarding the help for people that have these issues.
The yellow ribbon tied to the skull is extremely suggestive. I have read the rules and regulations or whatever for that photography competition, and your pic indeed, fits the request perfectly.
Not only you captured the human suffering, but you also gave us a pretty good chance to see better what a gentle creature, and fragile a human being is.
fantastic work! i gots me another fav. may i ??

I was definitely going for a different perspective here, nice to hear that it came across. It's been said many times that we're all the same but when you put different colours, clothes and hair styles on people its a little harder to believe that. It becomes quite easy actually, to disassociate, to forget we're all humans, we all hurt and laugh and feel. I thought that by stripping the human figure down to bones it would get the point across and include absolutely everyone into the equation.
I like the yellow ribbon/blind fold a lot, its my favourite part actually. I've heard a fair amount of unsympathetic comments directed towards people who have either succeeded or attempted suicide but could you imagine being so "blinded" by your emotions that ending your own life becomes a viable solution? Scary and sad. I wish no one ever had to feel like that.
Anyways...glad you like it man! no need to ask- faves are cool, your comments are awesome

I have to do something new, i feel like i have to take up on another type of pictures. I'd love to do conceptual images, but i feel i can't do anything just because of my camera, which is an old one, and out of fashion one, and really not good.
Sorry lol i made this sound like a page ripped right out of my journal.
i just love ur work and i will keep doing comments upon it. i love pics that require concentration and understanding.
good luck!
